These limits are used to monitor and manage risk prior to trade execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soft limits can be created and configured by an end user within the local Order Profiles&#8217; Soft Limits tab in the Order Profiles widget. Users can set soft limits on the \u201cDefault\u201d order profile, or on order profiles that were created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soft Limits are only applied to Native Order Types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Descriptions for each column are detailed in the <a href=\"op-reference.html#columns\">Order profile columns section<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike hard limits, soft limits generate notifications when specified risk thresholds are reached, but they do not prevent order submission or execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soft limits can be applied to the <strong>Default<\/strong> order profile or to any custom order profiles created by the user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/library-staging.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/soft-limits-order-profile.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-entry-warnings\">Order Entry Warnings<a href=\"\/trade\/op-soft-limits.html#order-entry-warnings\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-ticket\">Order Ticket<a href=\"\/trade\/op-soft-limits.html#order-ticket\"><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you place an order that exceeds the soft pre-trade risk setting, the order ticket will display a warning message. You can override the warning and submit the order, or exit from the warning message and close the order ticket without submitting the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/library-staging.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/soft-limits-ot-warning.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-book\">Order Book<a href=\"\/trade\/op-soft-limits.html#order-book\"><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After clicking the Change button, the Order Book will display the soft limit warning when an order change request requires a confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: The soft limit warning will only appear when one order is selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Status column will show the current status as &#8220;Pending Approval&#8221;. Click the&nbsp;<strong>Confirm Change<\/strong>&nbsp;button to update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/library-staging.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/soft-limits-ob-warning.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"floating-order-book\">Floating Order Book<a href=\"\/trade\/op-soft-limits.html#floating-order-book\"><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After clicking the&nbsp;<strong>Change<\/strong>&nbsp;button, the Floating Order Book will display the soft limit warning when an order change request requires a confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/library-staging.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/soft-limits-fob-warning.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-book-pending-approval-orders\">Order Book Pending Approval Orders<a href=\"\/trade\/op-soft-limits.html#order-book-pending-approval-orders\"><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orders that are in Pending Approval will be visible in the Order Book.
