object-oriented programming to develop TT Core SDK
applications.

Staying current with TT CORE SDK releases

It is important to stay current on all of the latest changes
that TT makes in TT Core SDK. You can subscribe for automated
email notifications when new versions of TT Core SDK are
released by clicking the ‘Subscribe’ button on the
TT Release Notes
web page. Although we strive to keep the interface completely
backwards compatible in new versions, there may be instances
where this is not possible and, as such, will require
developers to recompile and/or make code changes.

Versions lower than v1.1.0.1 target a single REST API instance in the U.S. to service internal version requests. To improve resiliency, TT has deployed a new version of this REST API to multiple instances around the globe. This will benefit non-U.S. client applications in that they will communicate with a regionally local instance. Furthermore, automatic failover will occur if your regionally local instance becomes unavailable, providing seamless operation of your applications. As such, TT strongly recommends that clients upgrade to v1.1.0.1 or higher to avoid business continuity issues. Furthermore, you will need to ensure that your network’s firewall configuration allows access to the new URL: https://ttrestapi.trade.tt.

To download and install the TT CORE SDK:

TT Core SDK includes a C++ / Linux Application Programming
Interface (API) that provides developers with a single,
normalized interface for interacting with all exchanges
supported by Trading Technologies.

Specifically, applications can:

• Download Instruments
• Subscribe for Prices
• Route Orders
• Receive Order Updates and Fills

Customer applications built with TT Core SDK reside inside the
TT ecosystem. As such, use of the TT Core SDK requires a
dedicated Linux server leased from TT.

TT logs messages for your application and stores them in the ‘/var/log/TT’ directory.

You can write additional information to the TT Core SDK log
files by using the following function:

The LogAlways value is used for messages
which must be logged regardless of the minimal logging level.

You can also use the following convenience functions that
pre-define the logging levels.

System requirements

A dedicated server provided by TT running Linux. Specifically,
the TT-provided server runs CentOS 7 as required by the TT
Core SDK.

Licensing

Running a TT Core SDK application requires two prerequisites:

• First, a user must have a TT Pro license. A user with a TT
  Pro license can run any number of TT Core SDK applications.
• Second, each client application instance must provide its
  own application key upon initialization. Refer to
  Authenticating a TT Core SDK application
  for details on creating application keys.

TT Core SDK allows developers to write applications that
communicate with the TT infrastructure and the exchanges to
which it connects. Specifically, applications can download
instruments, subscribe for market data, route orders, and
receive order / fill updates.

Applications written using TT Core SDK must be deployed to,
and run on, a bare metal server provided by TT. These servers
are not only configured for the best possible performance,
they are also fitted with specific hardware to ensure that
they are properly secured.
